Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

The Ounie — Save to your brain Chrome extension lets you save web content into your Ounie AI Second Brain (ounie.com), highlight passages that reappear when you return to a page, and open a clean reading view. This policy explains exactly what the extension accesses and sends.

What the extension saves

The extension only transmits content that you explicitly choose to save:

• A page’s URL, when you save a link.
• A clipped copy of the page (its main article or the full page) or your current text selection, when you clip or save it.
• The text of a passage you highlight, together with the URL of the page it is on, so the highlight can reappear when you revisit the page.

That content is sent only to https://ounie.com and stored in your Ounie account, in the brain you select. It is handled under the main Ounie Privacy Policy.

What it reads, and what it does not send

To clip articles and to anchor your highlights, the extension reads the content of the page you are on. It does notsend page content to Ounie except for the specific items you save or highlight. It does not track your browsing, read pages in the background, or transmit anything from pages you don’t act on.

What it stores on your device

In Chrome’s synced extension storage the extension keeps only your settings: the API base URL, an optional API key, your last-used brain, and reading-view preferences (font size, theme). It does not store your browsing history.

Authentication

The extension authenticates either with your existing signed-in ounie.com session cookie or, optionally, with an API key you generate in ounie.com settings and paste into the extension. Credentials are sent only to ounie.com.

What it does not do

The extension contains no analytics or tracking, runs no remote code, and does not sell or share your data with third parties.

Your choices

You can delete any saved source or highlight from your Ounie account at any time, and you can remove the extension to stop all access.
