Publishing
Site Builder
Publish a brain as a whole website on your own subdomain or custom domain. Every page is grounded in your sources, the Ask bubble answers on every page, and the pages ship as fast, script-free HTML.
How it works#
A site belongs to one brain. You build it in the dashboard’s site builder, preview it as a free draft for as long as you like, and publish it to yourname.ounie.com — or attach a custom domain. There are two kinds of site, and you can switch between them at any time.
Knowledge sites#
A knowledge site serves your wiki as the website: you pick which pages publish under /docs (only the pages you opt in, plus the pages they link to), and the navigation builds itself from the links between them. Add a blog with an RSS feed by opting pages in, and let visitors ask questions through the Ask bubble — answers come from those same docs, with citations. Nothing is generated: every page is your real wiki content, so a knowledge site costs nothing to create and nothing to change.
Knowledge templates give you a starting shape in one click — Docs (a classic documentation home), Help Center (the Ask box up front, with popular articles you pin), and Changelog (your updates as a dated feed with RSS). A knowledge template only sets the home layout, navigation, theme, and page width — it is always free and instant, and every setting it touches can be changed independently later.
Business sites#
A business site is everything a knowledge site is, plus composed marketing pages — a home page, pricing, services, about, FAQ, and more. You choose a framework (the page’s persuasion structure) and a theme; Ounie writes the copy from your brain’s facts, never from thin air. Business sites also unlock the full navigation menu, hiding the “Made with Ounie” badge, and Autopilot — server-side A/B testing and FAQ suggestions mined from real visitor questions, with every change waiting for your approval.
The builder#
The builder is a chat beside a live preview. Tell it what you want (“make it more dramatic”, “add a pricing page”) or click any section in the preview to edit its text directly. Swap themes, templates, section designs, and page width freely. Every change is recorded in the site’s history with a plain-language label, and restoring any earlier version is free. Style changes never cost anything; only rewriting copy with AI spends credits, and thin results are refunded automatically.
Browse the template gallery for ready-made starting points. Business templates seed the look and page structure — the words always compose from your brain. Knowledge templates apply layout and navigation only, free.
Drafts, publishing, and pricing#
Drafts are free on every plan. Publishing is paid per site, separate from your Ounie plan: a knowledge site is $10/month and a business site is $20/month, carried on one subscription however many sites you run. Switching a site between the two presets prorates the difference — and moving a business site down to knowledge pauses its marketing pages without deleting anything, so you can switch back later. Custom domains come with any published site. See pricing for details.
Search engines and AI#
Published sites ship with the full discoverability pack: a sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt, structured data, and a Markdown mirror of every page for AI readers. Each site also exposes its own ask endpoint and an MCP server, so agents can query your site directly — all governed by a single AI-crawlers toggle in the site’s settings.
